Another
late morning was followed with a breakfast of fruit, bread, parma
ham and honey al fresco. Very pleasant. We then decided to go back
into Viareggio to visit the Tourist Information Bureau whilst it
was open. We drove aimlessly around Viareggio and Lido di Camore
(the next town up the coast from Viareggio), gradually getting our
bearings. Tom was hungry (no surprises there), so we stopped at
a café on the promenade where Tom had a pizza, Charlotte
had a slice of panforte and we both had cappuccino’s. Eating
was followed by people watching and a lot of talking (mainly about
how much fun the wedding had been) and suddenly a few hours had
passed.
We chatted to a very nice lady in the Tourist Office where we picked
up lots of maps and brochures and then we felt it was time for some
more ice cream: Charlotte had peach and pistachio, Tom had cherry
and chocolate chip. We found our way to Viareggio's supermarket,
the restaurants recommended by the Tourist Office lady and the train
station. We then went home for some supper of pasta with asparagus
and an early night – well, we were on our honeymoon.
