Disaster! We are returned our €200deposit on
leaving the villa (minus €34 for the electricity used during
our stay). How to spend nearly €200 on our last day? We drove
to Pisa via Lucca to pick up some more delicious biscotti for the
journey home and had lunch in Pisa sitting directly under an air
conditioning unit. One last ice cream (normal sized) and a gentle
stroll was followed by the journey to the airport. We dropped off
the car and caught the plane back to Nottingham. On the plane there
was an announcement for a couple celebrating their twenty-third
wedding anniversary: we realised they had been married for more
years than we have been married days. Getting a taxi at East Midlands
was so much easier than in Pisa. We made it home without a police
escort to more cards, presents and a box of cress (thanks to Viv
for getting in the groceries but what did you think we were going
to with a box of cress at that time of night?!). |
